the Equal Pay for Women Myth

THERE IS A SLIGHT WAGE GAP BETWEEN WOMEN AND MEN IN THIS COUNTRY, ALTHOUGH THAT IS ALREADY AGAINST THE LAW.  A LAW THAT PRESIDENT OBAMA IS FULLY AWARE OF, BUT CHOOSES TO IGNORE.  I FOR ONE HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT SALARY SHOULD BE DETERMINED BY MERIT.  IF YOU HAVE TWO DITCH-DIGGERS AND ONE DIS TWICE AS MUCH AS THE OTHER THEN HE PAY SHOULD BE TWICE AS MUCH.  WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT?  EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK IS THE WAY TO GO.  THE WAY NOT TO GO IS TO HAVE SOME GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE DECIDE HOW MUCH TO PAY WORKERS IN FAR FLUNG COMPANIES HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT.  CARTOON BY NATE BEELER
