Release Pvt. Bowe Bergdahl - Prisoner Exchange??

The Taliban have recently released a video of a captured American soldier, Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl. Pfc. Bergdahl was captured this past June in Afghanistan after straying from his unit there. He is now being used by the Taliban for propaganda purposes. The release of this video at Christmas is despicable and shows the depths of depravity that the enemy will sink too. I'm sure that American commanders are using all means to find and secure the release of this young soldier. The question I would now pose is this: should we attempt some type of prisoner exchange to obtain the release of this young soldier? I have mixed feelings on this issue and would welcome your input. The government of the United States has done this in the past, notably in the early years of the War Between the States, but it was later discontinued when the government realized this program was benefiting the south more than the north. The government of Israel also does prisoner exchanges. Like I said before, I see benefits and dangers on this issue.

KABUL — In a Christmas Day move, the Taliban on Friday released a video of an American soldier captured in Afghanistan, showing him apparently healthy but spouting criticism about the U.S. military operation. In Idaho, Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl's family pleaded for his release and urged him to "stay strong."

Bergdahl disappeared June 30 while based in eastern Afghanistan and is the only known American serviceman in captivity. The Taliban claimed his capture in a video released in mid-July that showed the young Idaho soldier appearing downcast and frightened. He hadn't been heard from until Friday's video, in which he looks well and speaks clearly.

The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force confirmed hours later that the man in the video was Bergdahl, but denounced both its timing and content.

"This is a horrible act which exploits a young soldier, who was clearly compelled to read a prepared statement," said a statement from U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Gregory Smith, ISAF's spokesman. "To release this video on Christmas Day is an affront to the deeply concerned family and friends of Bowe Bergdahl, demonstrating contempt for religious traditions and the teachings of Islam." read more from FOX News

Umar - Barack - Terrorist Rights - And Other Stupid Things

Al qaeda terrorist Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, attempts to meet his 72 virgins aboard Northwest Airline Flight 253 shortly before that plane lands in Detroit in route from Amsterdam. Fortunately for passengers aboard flight 253 the bomb strapped to his leg was a fizzle and not a bang. Umar (raghead) Mutallab, was subdued by fellow passengers immediately following the small smoking pop. This was probably the roughest treatment he will have from this point on from the Obama Justice Department.

One can easily picture Omar requesting an attorney at this point and Eric Holders justice department quickly complying, even though this foreigner was on an international flight. He will be afforded all the constitutional rights you and I have including avoiding questioning without his attorney being present. He undoubtedly possesses a treasure trove of information that would thwart future attacks, but this information will not be obtained by the polite agents in Obama's FBI. Just think if Bush was still president, this guy would have been escorted from the plane by the FBI, then turned over to the CIA or some group like it and immediately got a swift punch in the gut once inside that black SUV at the airport and within 24-48 hours we would know what he had for lunch a month ago. Not now, not under Obama, not under an administration that believes in the rights of a foreign terrorist more than the safety of its own citizens. Valuable information could be forthcoming, but not this time, unless this guy just loves to hear himself talk.

Obama will undoubtedly hold a news conference in the next few days where he will say the suspect is talking and useful information is being obtained. He will not cite what information calling that classified. Bush would say the same in similar circumstances, the difference being that while Obama's primary concern seems to be the rights of the terrorist and Bush's is the safety of Americans. Bush had faults and did some things wrong, while Obama has faults and does nothing right.

Obama's Utopian Dream

Recently, I came across a post on Sugar n Spice concerning a recent interview Obama gave to "60 Minutes". In the interview Obama is seen giggling and laughing and is called on it by the reporter, to which he replies "well you need a little gallows humor" or something to that effect. Glad he mentioned hanging and not some conservative---know that would have created something of a fire-storm. Sugar mentioned in her post that Barack looked and acted like he was high---the giggles, laughs, etc. Guess the truth will never be known---his actions did raise some eye-brows, however.

Anyway after reading Sugar's post and viewing the "60 Minutes" video, I got to thinking about by days some years ago and my frequent visits with Maryjane (marijuana). Often I would come in after a long hard day at the office change clothes and go to my friends house. There Tim, my friend, and I would relax and fire-up the old bong and enjoy the sultry Florida evening. During those long (and they were long) evenings we would discuss and solve most of the world's problems. However, I did notice the next day that all the solutions had slipped away and not to be retrieved until our next visit to Maryjanes place. During the trips Tim and I saw somethings differently--I would focus on the small (like looking at the details of the bark on a tree), while my friend would focus on the large (the whole forest and beyond). I was looking to the infinity of the small and he the infinity of the large. He often said, "where the big meets the small there you would find the answer to it all." Tim is gone now, died at the young age of 44. I miss my friend. Enough of the reminiscing, back to Sugar's post on Obama.

While reading Sugar's post I was reminded of Jonahan Swift's, Gulliver's Travels. And 3 or the 4 stories in his satire. The first being the best known of his visit to the land of the Lilliputians---the examination of the small and seemingly petty things in life. And next the visit to the land of the giants (the Brobdingnagians)---holding the magnifying glass up to the world and pointing out the imperfections. And finally, the land of the horses (the Houyhnhnms)---there Gulliver saw the perfection in nature, a Utopia. So as I read Sugar's post I was wondering what Obama was thinking of, if indeed, he was in a cloud of smoke--the Lilliputians, the Brobdingnagians, or the Houyhnhnms. Suddenly, the reality hit me---of course it was the Houyhnhnms! There he would have found his vision of a "Socialist Utopia." The perfect world which all liberals dream of and wish to impose on us all for our own good. Or maybe he sees something more ominous---he is Gulliver and we, well we are the Lilliputians.

The Tipping Point

The tipping point is that invisible mark that each must find. And in the end some will sit on the side lines while others join the fight. But once the fight is joined the onrushing events will gather momentum and all will be effected by the great struggle and even the "sunshine patriot" will find no refuge from the storm. We are now approaching that point, that place from which there is no turning back, some will say yes, while others hold back and cringe before the foreboding warnings.

Great changes are in the wind and the forces of change are gathering as the approaching storm looms large on the horizon. Many are seeking the shelter of family and friends with the hope that these changes will pass them by and they can again feel the warmth of yesterdays. While others are rushing to fill the breach torn in the fabric of the nation by those forces who would not only destroy the tomorrow's but the yesterday's. For the fair weather soldier the tipping point will never come, for they will continue to push that point farther and farther down the road. They will stand under that sheltered tree as the battle swirls round them and their muskets will never know the taste of fire and smoke. But wiser men will stand and say, "no more", for they have reached that place from which there is no retreat---The Tipping Point!

Are You Racist?

It seems these days that anyone who disagrees with Obama is a racist. That was a campaign tactic that's now been transferred to his administration. Really, what is a racist. I prefer to associate with whites in general more than with blacks---therefore, I'm racist. Does it not matter that I have more in common with them, guess not--I'm racist. Tried to speak to some Mexicans the other day at the store, suppose they couldn't understand me, so I went on with my shopping--I'm racist. I support legal immigration, not illegal immigration--I'm racist. I think most of Obama's policies are foolish--I'm racist. So what is a racist? Took the time to look it up--says a racist is someone who has an unreasoning dislike for someone on another race. Gosh, that lets me off the hook, I have reasons for my dislikes. I dislike some Arabs because they want to kill me so I guess that one is ok. I dislike some Mexicans because they jumped the fence so that one is ok. I dislike some blacks because they feel I owe them something guess that one is ok. And finally, I dislike liberals, because I simply cannot tolerate fools, guess that one is ok, too. Gee, maybe I'm not racist.

ATTACK: Washington D.C. Nuked

Zero Hour At 10.24 a m today a small nuclear device was detonated today somewhere between the White House and the U. S. Capitol building in Washington. The first reports came from commercial airline pilots approaching the city in route to JFK . Numerous pilots reported seeing a huge mushroom cloud coming up from the city's center and at the same time feeling their aircraft shudder from the force of the blast. At this time communications from the stricken city remain sparse with little information coming out. For the moment there is no word about the safety of the president although it is known that he was in the White House at the time of the attack. It is also believed that both the House and the Senate were in session at the moment of the blast.

Zero Hour +1 News helicopters out of the Baltimore area flying over Washington report seeing massive damage in the Washington D.C. areas with hundreds of fires raging in areas up to one mile from what is believed to be ground zero. Some reported seeing a huge crater perhaps 100-200 yards wide in an area some quarter mile NE of the spot where the Washington Monument formally stood, only the base of that structure remains. There are also unconfirmed reports that parts of the capital dome are missing and that flames are coming from the gaping holes in that structure. Parts of the White House have been completely destroyed while other parts are in flames at this hour with no efforts being made to extinguish them.

Zero Hour +5 Breaking news from AP: The Associated Press in now reporting that president Barack Hussein Obama was killed in the attack on the nations capital earlier today, but gave no details. It is also reporting that Vice President Joe Biden who was at the White House at that hour was also killed in the blast. And this report is just coming in: many members of Congress have perished in the attack among the many being mentioned at this time are notably Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the house, and Senator Robert Byrd, President pro tempore of the Senate. Rueters is now reporting the Secertary of State Hillary Clinton in being sworn in as the 45th president of the United States on a air force plane somewhere over the Atlantic as she flies back back from Brussels where she was attending a NATO meeting. Her destination is a closely guarded secret at this time.

Zero Hour +10 Al Jazeera television is reporting that Al qaeda is claiming responsibility for the attack on Washington and that terrorist group is claiming to have planted additional nuclear devices in other U.S. cities. Along with this claim Al qaeda has issued a list of demands to stop the any future attacks. Among the many demands are the following: 1) immediate moves to began a full U.S. withdrawal of military forces from all Muslim countries throughout the world 2) immediate cease fire by all U.S. military forces in Iraq and Afghanistan 3) recognition of Al qaeda as a legitimate organization operating to restore world peace 4) reparations in the amount of One Trillion dollars to be paid to Al qaeda for damages to that organization an other Arab states 5) additional demands to come in near future. Al Jazeera is also reporting that Al qaeda is giving the United States government 72 hour to announce compliance with these demands or a second device will be detonated somewhere in the US.

Zero Hour +20 PANIC has gripped Americans as millions the flee the cities for the perceived safety of the countryside............. Barry woke, dressed and walked outside; the young boy got his surfboard and headed for the beach. His dream was over, but the real nightmare was yet to come!

NUKE UM

"Nuke em", I often see this while visiting around the blogosphere and my usual first reaction is to recoil at the mere idea of setting loose those terrible WMD's. Being a child of the 1950's and having seen all the old movies such as "Fail Safe", "Doctor Strangelove" and many more coupled with my real nightmares as a child about those looming mushroom clouds the mere idea of a nuclear explosion scares the hell out of me.

Having gotten that out of the way, I've come to face a new reality and that reality is that one day we will be confronted with the cold hard truth of using the nuke or losing the battle. Tactical nukes are at the ready should they be needed. However, when such things are mentioned the American left recoils for they would not shoot so much as a spitball at the enemy and have shown consistently they will not even hurl insults their way. Although they have no problems with calling those of us on the right every name under the sun. It is becoming increasing obvious to me that the only enemy the American left sees is those fellow Americans on the right, and they feel if they can defeat those all other enemies in the world will miraculously vanish in a cloud of cleaning smoke.

War is not a game and the timid have no place on the battlefield or in the command post. To play at war is to lose and before losing I say those frightening words, "nuke um".

Global Warming and The Precautionary Principle

by Eric Englund
Emboldened by a United Nations report regarding global warming, President Barack Obama with his continuing high poll numbers proposes an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to protect Mother Earth from humanity’s depredations – this would be the 28th Amendment to the Constitution. After all, "science" has determined that global warming (which has a "high probability" of being human-caused) is going to decimate untold numbers of animal and plant species. Americans, accordingly, came to a strong consensus that political action, as guided by the "precautionary principle," was the only way to save the environment, let alone the entire planet. President Obama's election mandate has delivered a message to all 50 state legislatures that his proposed "Precautionary Principle Constitutional Amendment" must be ratified posthaste.

It is early 2009 and Obama has just taken the Presidential Oath of Office. One of President Obama's first priorities is to prod each state legislature into ratifying the 28th Amendment. He brushes aside critics who have declared that the Amendment will hollow out the Constitution. During a "Keynesian" moment of candor, President Obama quips: "The Bill of Rights really won’t matter if we are all dead." With Americans clamoring for environmental and human salvation, all 50 state legislatures ratify the 28th Amendment with the same rapidity, foresight, and studiousness as the U.S. Congress exercised when passing the Patriot Act.

Barack Obama, and the Democratic Party, celebrate one of the most astonishing political victories in U.S. history. Now, Mother Earth herself will have a "voice" in domestic and world politics. The precautionary principle has become enshrined in the U.S. Constitution. The body of the 28th Amendment reads as follows:

Amendment XXVIII

Section 1: Congress shall take any necessary action in advance of scientific proof of evidence, that the environment may be harmed, on the grounds that any delay of action would be more costly to society and nature. Precaution is not simply the prevention of manifest or predicted risks that have been scientifically proven. Rather, the precautionary principle goes beyond the notion of prevention in the sense that it insists that Congress move to anticipate problems before they arise or before scientific proof of harm is established.

Section 2: The actions of human beings, corporations, and other entities shall be subject to examination of identifiable social and environmental gains or losses arising from any course of action.

Section 3: The precautionary principle shall be enforced so that the overall capacity of environmental systems will act as a buffer for human well-being. However, any error in risk calculation shall be to the advantage of the environment. This entails leaving a sufficiently wide natural cushion in the functional equilibria of natural systems. In effect, this means that humans must learn to widen the assimilative capacity of natural systems by deliberately holding back from unnecessary and environmentally unsustainable resource use on the grounds that exploitation may prove to be counterproductive, excessively costly or simply unfair to future generations. Nature's assimilative capacity cannot always be taken for granted.

Section 4: As a matter of moral right, vulnerable and critical natural systems and entities, namely those close to thresholds, or whose existence is vital for natural regeneration, shall have equal standing to human beings.

Section 5: No real property shall be developed without the property owner demonstrating that no unreasonable harm will come to the land.

Section 6: All Congressional spending decisions must integrate environmental policy from certain and known concerns that occur in the present, to future and more uncertain issues.

Section 7: The international environmental treaty, known as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, its Kyoto Protocol, and all further updates, are hereby integrated into the Constitution.

Section 8: Any Constitutional interpretations, conflicting with this Amendment, shall be settled in favor of this Amendment.

Section 9: The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

During the ratification process, opponents of the 28th Amendment were quite vocal. Such critics advised that the proposed Amendment essentially voids the Constitution itself. Detractors argued that the unintended consequences, of giving the environment legal standing equal to humankind, will be economically and socially devastating. Additionally, the intentional vagueness of the precautionary principle will allow for arbitrary and tyrannical rule. It will be only a matter of time before chaos ensues.

In a stunning turn of events, with respect to the Section 3 of the 28th Amendment, pro-life advocates immediately seek to overturn Roe vs. Wade and, by default, make abortion illegal in the United States. Pro-life advocates assert that giving legal standing to future generations inherently makes abortion murder.

This thorny issue (abortion) has been haunting the U.S. Supreme Court for decades. The court immediately takes up the case and hears both sides of the argument. With breathtaking speed, the Justices rule 9-0 in favor of the pro-life advocates. In a brief summary of the unanimous decision, the Justices state: "In light of Sections 3, 4 and 8 of the 28th Amendment – the law of the land – an unborn child has full legal standing in the United States. Hence, abortion is murder."

Feminists and women’s rights groups, throughout the nation, express outrage at what the Democratic Party has wrought upon American women.

To add another unintended consequence into the mix, veterinarians are now refusing to euthanize terminally ill and infirmed animals. A cautious interpretation of the 28th Amendment reveals its biocentric nature – all entities, which naturally include animals, have equal standing to humans. Therefore, to euthanize an animal would be tantamount to murder. Pet owners, across the nation, are confused and exasperated.

Shall the police be called in to investigate the death of a goldfish?

Heartened by the newly found "rights" of animals, animal-rights activists press to have hunting and fishing banned in the United States. As a response, every state suspends the issuance of hunting and fishing licenses. Lawsuits begin to flood the state courts.

Being that the precautionary principle is inherently vague and broad, the anti-gun lobby leaps into action. Citing Section 1 of the 28th Amendment, anti-gunners mention how it is incumbent upon Congress to both "anticipate" and "prevent" problems.

With murder rates, in Washington D.C. and New Orleans, at alarming highs, anti-gunners declare that an outright ban of guns is the only solution to the "murder problem." As the anti-gun lobbyists argue, "…guns kill people." To add weight to their case, President Bush’s war in Iraq is cited as an example of the precautionary principle. Poor implementation of the war aside, Congress did agree to allow the Commander in Chief to militarily remove the Iraqi regime and then seek out and confiscate Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction. Congress determined such preemptive and precautionary military actions were necessary in order to prevent Iraqi WMDs from ever harming the American people. Based upon Congressional precedent (i.e. the precautionary war against Iraq), and now buttressed by the 28th Amendment, anti-gunners demand that the right to bear arms be immediately revoked for the sake of preventing further murders in the United States. The Supreme Court’s docket is starting to get full.

Animal-rights activists, not surprisingly, have expressed their solidarity with the anti-gun lobby.

And now, back to the present. With environmentalists playing the role of Mother Earth’s savior, welcome to the moral, intellectual, and legal quagmire that the green movement is attempting to thrust upon humanity.

If global warming is real, and I seriously doubt it, then let free-market solutions emerge instead of adopting the failed command and control systems advocated by environmentalists. The eminent Austrian economist, Dr. George Reisman, has written forcefully on this matter:

Whether global warming comes or not, it is certain that nature itself will sooner or later produce major changes in the climate. To deal with those changes and virtually all other changes arising from whatever cause, man absolutely requires individual freedom, science, and technology. In a word, he requires the industrial civilization constituted by capitalism.

This brings me back to the possibly truly good objectives that have been mixed in with environmentalism, such as the desire for greater cleanliness and health. If one wants to advocate such objectives without aiding the potential mass murderers in the environmental movement in achieving their goals, one must first of all accept unreservedly the values of human reason, science, technology, and industrial civilization, and never attack those values. They are the indispensable foundation for achieving greater cleanliness and better health and longer life.

If you do not believe green totalitarianism can take root in the United States, then I suggest that you take a look at what is happening in San Francisco. Under the guise of the precautionary principle, it has already begun.

The Cost of War and The Price of Victory

Today, I did venture out into the blogosphere for a very brief time and read a post dealing with the "Cost of War" over at Texas Fred. In his article Fred concentrated on the effectiveness of the "Hellfire Missile" and its use by the predator drones. I very lethal combination and one that saves American lives, but unfortunately this is not a decisive weapon. I've always thought that wars were fought to win and not obtain some type of draw. Being an old history teacher I have read about the early years of the "War for Southern Independence" in that bloody conflict the early generals selected by Lincoln would fight a battle and then retire back to the safety of Washington D.C. which quickly became the most fortified city in the world. Then after a few months they would venture out again and they repeated this over and over. Finally Lincoln put U S Grant in charge. Grant quickly realized the futility of these tactics and although the battles were bloody he continued to throw men into the lines, his losses were astronomical, but in the end he did achieve the final victory. I'm sure Grant felt the sting of his losses, but he nevertheless pushed on. It does seem that many times in history "the cost of war is the price of victory". by Ron Russell

Attack of Scarabaeidia aka The Kenyan Dung Beetle

Scarabaeidia aka Kenyan Dung Beetle

Tucked deep inside the latest massive appropriations bill and almost hidden among the thousands of pork barrel request is an obscure item which few have noticed. This item is simply labeled "Importation of Scarabaeidia". Few if any members of Congress read these bills, as they delegate these unimportant matters to staffers. It seems that representative I. C. Feces, a junior republican congressman from the sovereign state of Alabama managed to slip this small request into this enormous trillion dollar bill. The cost of this pork barrel project is a measly $3,000,000 dollars, a mere drop in the bucket by congressional standands. This request calls for the importation of some three million Scarabaeidia, which comes to a cost of a dollar each, seemingly a bargain. When asked my a curious reporter why these Scarabaeidia were being imported Rep. I.C. Feces replied that he intended to take the little creatures to Washington and turn them loose near the Capital and White House as the amount of crap coming out of both was endangering the health of the nation. Shocked the reporter asked what the Scarabaeidia could do about that, Rep. I.C. Feces laughed and replied, "the Scarabaeidia, aka Kenyan Dung Beetle is the best shit-eater in the world having developed a voracious appetite for it in his native Kenya"!

DETROIT: Progressives - Labor Unions - Schools

Detroit the once proud capital of America's automotive industry and a city that bragged on its great school system, is now a vast wasteland a showcase not for progress but for urban blight brought on by years of one party progressive rule and greedy unions and politicians who acted like pigs at the trough. Yes the happy days are over and the bleak reality has set in, an the true result of run-a-way progressivism is being felt.
Parents in Detroit are blaming teachers for the low test scores of students in that district. Of course the teachers along with the teachers unions are part of the problem, but only a part of a much bigger problem. The city of Detroit has been run by progressive Democrats for as long as anyone can remember and its the polices of these elected politicians and the dumb voters who continue to re-elect them year after year that is at the heart of this issue. Of course, the citizens of that once great city will never admit this and will continue to support these leaders who will lie and lead them down the progressive road to failure and ultimate collapse. The state, local and federal governments have pumped millions of dollars into a corrupt system that will never work as long as those at the bottom look for the promised handouts from their political leaders who maintain control by making promises they never keep. The problem isn't the low test scores of the students caught up in this circle of ignorance but rather the appalling stupidity of the voters who insist on re-electing those who are dragging them down with their radical progressivism. Arrest the teachers, hell no! Kick out the politicians for they are at the heart of the problem.

Detroit public school parents are outraged at city educators after receiving news of subpar test scores.

The test scores showed that fourth- and eighth-graders had the worst math scores in the nation. The Detroit Parent Network came together Saturday to make their voices heard.

Sharlonda Buckman, chief executive officer for the network is calling for criminal and civil action against those responsible for educating the city's children, according to reports.

District Emergency Financial Manager Robert Bob said the horrendous test scores should not be blamed on the students, but on the school district itself for "failing to fulfill its duty to the kids and their parents." FOX News

Mother Earth Demands Population Control

Many nations today are seriously considering measures to limit the growth of their populations first by providing incentives for couples to have fewer children and then more draconian measures like those already in existence in China. Most in the radical environmental movement see humans as the greatest threat to Mother Earth which has become the god of these otherwise godless beings. Mother Earth has emerged as the new god for hundreds of millions and anything to appease her wrath will be done by these new believers, including the pagan-like sacrifice of millions of unborn babies. These new Mother Earth worshipers have one-upped the Nazis and their plans for extermination far exceed the puny efforts of both Hitler and Stalin. These people intend to get the world's blessing for their actions from the world's most prestigious body, the United Nations. And that blessing will be given, for those in power there will see this as a way to control the lives and yes, the money of those rich nations that have done so much to destroy the planet. Mother Earth who has now replaced God will be avenged by these fanatical followers. Finally after years of wondering in the wilderness the progressives of the world have found their way and now Mother Earth is leading them to the promised land. Hallelujah!

Obama Could Learn From the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces)

Off Duty IDF Girl With Her Weapon

Its been a few weeks now since the terrorist attack at Fort Hood and after having some time to reflect on that attack many are beginning to question the policy of having our military bases the "gun free" zones they now are thanks to legislation signed by Bill Clinton back in 1993. You would think soldiers of all people would be able to carry their personal weapons while on base, and perhaps even their issued government weapons. If this had been the case at Fort Hood, I dare say the death toll would have been much lower and we would have fewer grieving family members today and just maybe a dead terrorist.

While making my daily rounds the other day I came across a great post at Seaspook titled "From the Mail Bag" on just this issue. In that post Seaspook points out that the IDF, Israeli Defense Forces not only carry their weapons (loaded)on base, but even when off duty in the cities of that beleaguered state. It now seems that American citizens are under the same threats that those in the Jewish state face. It is time, past time to arm our troops at home as well as on the battlefield, as the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan have moved to the homeland.

We know Israeli girls can shoot, but check out these young American girls.

Progressives who seek to restrict or take away gun ownership will have to deal with more than angry men. Don't mess with these girls and their guns.

EU to Give 3.6 Billion to African States to Combat Global Warming

Billions of dollars will be spent shortly in Africa to push back the effects of global warming. Large sums of this money will be spent in the Saharan parts of that continent where the spreading sands of the great Sahara desert are destroying once productive farm land and forcing the indigenous population to flee for lack of food and water. The great desert has been expanding at an alarming rate since the days of the Roman Empire, when the heavy roman chariots whipped up the sands of the desert floor sending huge quantities of sands up into the atmosphere aggravating an already deteriorating natural condition. Following the Romans the early Christian crusaders trampled across the barren wasteland further degrading the environment in their pursuit of the infidels. And during WWII vast European armies confronted one another in this once fertile area further destroying the land. So after centuries of man-made global warming the worst offenders are offering up compensation for their heinous acts to their victims in the form of vast sums of money to dig wells on the dry desert floors, to build irrigation canals, to modify and shift crop production, to improve health care to deal with spreading diseases caused by global warming, and finally to move from fossil fuels to non-carbon forms of energy such as wind and solar power.

At long last these greedy polluting European states have found a way to right past wrongs that have so injured the natives of north Africa and their once beautiful paradise. Yes, by digging wells, building irrigation systems constructing huge wind farms and vast solar power grids on the hot desert floors these once evil nations are showing the poor natives of this scorched land that they intend to make things right and sweep away the desert sands and make the deserts bloom. And if the new green industries in the EU make hundreds of billions in the process well that's fine!!!

EU leaders agreed Friday to commit euro2.4 billion ($3.6 billion) a year until 2012 to help poorer countries combat global warming, as they sought to rescue their image as climate change innovators and bolster talks in Copenhagen.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy says the offer "puts Europe in a leadership role in Copenhagen," where international negotiators are seeking a long-term way to slow the warming of the planet.

Yet on Friday, EU leaders reached a final figure of $3.6 billion a year for the next three years, with Britain, France and Germany each contributing about 20 percent. Britain is pushing to raise the figure higher at the Copenhagen talks.

The climate money is meant to go toward a global $10 billion annual fund for short-term help to poor countries, particularly in Africa, adapt to the effects of global warming before a new climate treaty being negotiated in Copenhagen comes into force in 2012.

"We will see if there is a move on the part of the other developed countries during the Copenhagen summit," Reinfeldt said, noting in particular the United States and Canada.

"There are few moments in history when nations are summoned to common decisions that will reshape the lives of men and women potentially for generations to come," Brown said.

The climate change money would help poorer countries build coastal protection, modify or shift crops threatened by drought, build water supplies and irrigation systems, preserve forests, improve health care to deal with diseases spread by warming, and move from fossil fuel to low-carbon energy systems such as solar and wind power. read more from FOX News

Pakistani Police Arrest Five American Jihadist

The recent arrest of five American Muslims in Pakistan points out whats seems to be a growing trend, more and more Muslims in this country are becoming radicalized. This leads one to ask what is happening in the Muslim communities throughout this country. Are these young men being converted to Jihad in the hundreds of mosque that dot the American landscape, are they being turned to radicalism by their parents or friends, or is there something far more frightening at work here; are the actual words of the Koran leading these men to the gates of hell and not to the paradise its promises.

These latest converts to radicalism were not from some down trodden group, but rather students at some of our finest universities with one being a dental student. Some of the parents of these young students had contacted CAIR when they realized their sons were missing, and that organization put then in contact with the FBI and got them lawyers---they will need them!

These would be jihadist had gone to Pakistan with the hope of joining up with al Qaeda for the express purpose of fighting and killing Americans in the war in Afghanistan. Yes, these young men were born in this country and are legally Americans, but they are unAmerican in their thoughts and deeds, and by going as far as they did in what became a failed attempt to join up with al Qaeda they are guilty of treason and should be treated as traitors. It is fortunate that the Pakistani's got them over there, for if they had been arrested in this country there is a good possibility that the truth would have never surfaced about their intentions. The Pakistani have a way of getting information, a avenue that is now closed to American interrogators thanks to BHO. At the time of this post the government of Pakistan has not charged the five, but has indicated the students jihadists have confessed their intentions. Presently Pakistan has no intentions of deporting the young men back to this country. That is wonderful for we don't want them back. Let Pakistan handle this with a short trial and speedy justice, something that's missing in our judicial system. Read complete story.
